WHAT ARE THE ODDS?

It was baby day today as I was lucky enough to make one stop at Winnie Palmer Hospital to see Tina with her new son, Jake, and a former client, Ashlee with her new daughter, Taylor and my sister-n-law Regina with her new daughter, Isabella!

Seriously, what are the odds? They all came via c-section (only one planned that way) and Jake entered the world first on St. Patty's Day at 6:16 am and then Taylor followed at 9:30 pm and Isabella was born today (the 18th) at 3:10 pm!

I stumbled across your blog today somehow while searching for info about Winnie Palmer....

Winnie is notorious for their high number of "unexpected" cesareans. Their published rate is over 39% and any nurse there will tell you that when you count in preemies and multiples it is well over 50%. Now THAT is scary. You can find the info on floridahealthfinder.gov.

If these women in your life need support in healing the physical and emotional recovery from their surgeries, send them to www.ican-online.org. ICAN is a wonderful organization, with a local Orlando chapter, that provides cesarean prevention, support, and recovery information.

Best,
Angela
